Project support

Understand how batteries, pumped hydro, air, flywheels, capacitors, thermal and hydrogen storage work. Compare service boundaries, site constraints and lifecycle evidence before choosing an architecture.

This centre covers electrochemical, mechanical, electrical, thermal and chemical storage. The three existing lessons, evidence checklist and procurement calculator specifically address stationary batteries. Microgrid dispatch and VPP participation remain linked to their existing topic paths.

Storage extends beyond batteries

Start with the principles and selection of batteries, pumped hydro, compressed/liquid air, flywheels, capacitors, heat and hydrogen. Training contains nine lessons; the three original lessons and procurement tool form a battery-specific path.

Project support follows the three stages below. Scope, evidence availability and fees require a project discussion; this page does not promise equipment performance, connection approval or investment returns.

1. Stage 1 · Establish the duty and evidence boundary

Starting evidence

Provide the single-line diagram, net AC service requirement, SOC policy, environmental conditions and existing asset data.

Working output

Prepare a duty sheet, boundary diagram and list of missing performance evidence.

Gate to the next step

Agree the meter boundary, protected reserve and the events the system must support before requesting comparable quotations.

2. Stage 2 · Review quotations and warranty exposure

Starting evidence

Provide dated installed quotations, efficiency/retention test conditions, warranty clauses, throughput definitions and exclusions.

Working output

Produce a comparable technical and cost register with warranty limits, exceptions and questions for each supplier.

Gate to the next step

Close the common scope and operating assumptions; obtain clarification where a claimed guarantee does not cover the planned duty.

3. Stage 3 · Plan acceptance and lifecycle control

Starting evidence

Provide the acceptance plan, installed configuration, protection/control interfaces, maintenance plan and emergency arrangements.

Working output

Prepare test/evidence matrices, defect actions, warranty records and review triggers for configuration or duty changes.

Gate to the next step

Specialists and responsible authorities must accept the applicable engineering and safety evidence before operational handover.
